The training was officially opened by the PNTL Administration Commander

A fleet management software training was conducted by the UNDP National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) project and the PNTL logistics office on 10 November 2017. The workshop following the attendance of five PNTL mechanics at a two-week training on engine and wire arms in Indonesia. 

Participants from the administration and logistics office had the opportunity to learn about tracking vehicle movement, maintenance and fuel management. The training was officially opened by the PNTL Administration Commander who said that the training would be useful and maximize PNTL vehicle use, as well as reducing the unexpected expenditure of the logistics budget in the future.

Fleet management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) database training was also provided in Aileu, Ainaro, Ermera, Liquica, Baucau, Viqueque and Lospalos between September and November 2017, with 14 logistics officers trained overall. Since then, PNTL has facilitated regional workshops to support PNTL fleetworks in the districts.

This training prepares human resources before the regional workshops become fully functional in 2018. The training covered IT focal point training, dashboard management and the fleet management database. It is also planned that there will be an opportunity for both IT and logistics staffs in the district to look after the IT system and fleet management database, with trained logistics staffs updating the database daily. The training is planned to take place in the 6 other municipalities during 2018.
