Today service providers, youth, social innovators and government and development partners gathered at Knua Juventude Fila-Liman (KJFL) in Dili to provide feedback on the new innovative www.filaliman.tl e-market platform.

As part of the effort to improve access to markets by small and medium enterprises and young people's access to job opportunities, the platform was established to connect sellers to potential buyers as well as job-seekers to potential employers.

H.E. Mr. Nívio Magalhães, Secretary of State for Youth and Employment

The e-market serves as an online directory of different businesses, initially in agriculture, agro-forestry, fisheries and tourism. In addition, job-seekers can create online profiles and employers can advertise vacancies. Categories for each subsection will be listed and can be augmented in the future as more businesses seek to join the platform.

The workshop was opened by H.E. Mr. Nívio Magalhães, Secretary of State for Youth and Employment and Mr. Claudio Providas, UNDP Timor-Leste Country Director.

An overview of the website was presented, followed by an opportunity for participants to share their feedback and ask questions. The feedback and inputs shared during the workshop will be used to improve the platform.

During the workshop participants reviewed the website via their smartphones before providing feedback

In partnership with the Government of Timor-Leste and private sector institutions, UNDP previously established ‘Knua Juventude Fila-Liman' which was inaugurated by former Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo on 16th August 2017.

The centre functions as a one-stop shop for youth to access to information and empowerment services such as business training and incubation, entrepreneurship and innovation camps, research and data literacy training, networking, and leadership development. Youth are also provided with an opportunity to raise their voices and opinions of development issues and access to financial support.
