UNDP assisted Baucau sub-district Vulnerable Person’s Unit (VPU) Officers to make a case report of gender-based violence

The UNDP team is hopeful that PNTL sub-district officers have successfully deepened their understanding on reporting through interactive sessions.

Their active discussion enabled them to identify the gaps and efforts to be made for the future.

On 19th and 20th of November, the “PNTL Strengthening Governance and Service Delivery” project conducted two-day training on VPU incident report and referral coordination to systematically record the cases of Gender Based Violence in Baucau in coordination with referral network.

Total 30 participants ( 15 famale, and 15 male) including Baucau sub-district VPU officers and Community Police were trained by the head of VPU and operation manager in PNTL Baucau. Additionally, referral network members such as Ministry of Social Solidarity (MSS), PRADET, UMA MAHON Baucau and Peace and Justice Commission, who provide support for survivors of Gender based violence, presented their roles and assistance for victims.

During the workshop, referral network members and PNTL officers exchanged their views on how to improve referral coordination and case record. Their active discussion enabled them to identify the gaps and efforts to be made for the future.

The UNDP team is hopeful that PNTL sub-district officers have successfully deepened their understanding on reporting through interactive sessions, which also help them to conduct an investigation and provide a well as seek necessary support for the survivors of gender-based violence.
