Parliament Unveils New Bilingual Portal

Dili – Vicente da Silva Guterres, President of National Parliament, launched the new Parliament portal providing online access to the work of the Parliament. The site, went live on 7 January, 2014.

Available in both Tetun and Portuguese, the portal is a unique platform for information on parliamentary activity and its launch was a key component of the institution’s communication strategy.

"Through the portal, we want to share with everyone, whether they are in the country or whether they are in the world outside, the work that daily members produce in this house of democracy and make it even more next (sic) of citizens,” said Sr Guterres in his opening remarks.

Development of the portal was supported by UNDP’s Parliament Project, Strengthening Institutional Capacity of the National Parliament, funded by the European Union.
